An Incredible 15 Years of Love, Laughter, and Legendary Heists
With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our beautiful Ellie, who left us after 15 incredible years. To live to 15 is an amazing, long milestone, but for us, it still wasn't enough time with a dog who was truly the heart and soul of our family.
From day one, Ellie was a constant, loving fixture in our home. She was there for every single one of the kids from the very moment they were born, watching over them with a gentle grace that extended to everyone, and every other animal, she ever met. Ellie had a beautiful, intuitive soul. Whenever someone was sad or upset, she just knew. Without a word, she would come over and lay her head on your leg or quietly rest beside you, providing a comfort that only she could give.
But Ellie was also a dog of great passion, and most of those passions involved food. She had an insatiable love of chicken, a legendary devotion to sitting under the dinner table hoping for scraps, and an unmatched talent for stealing food right out of your hand. Her food heists are the stuff of family legend—from successfully snatching a roll off a plate left on the stairs, to pulling off a daring raid to steal a full, intact pizza right off the kitchen worktop. She also loved her fair share of chocolate, proving to be a medical marvel after landing herself in the double digits at the vet's surgery over her lifetime because she simply couldn't resist a chocolate treat.
When she wasn't plotting her next kitchen raid, Ellie was the neighbourhood socialite. She loved nothing more than sitting proudly at the front door to collect attention from the neighbours, occasionally attempting a cheeky escape out the front just to have a good sniff around the world. At home, she was happiest just being loved, demanding attention or happily lying right underneath your feet while you sat.
Now that she is gone, the silence in our house is deeply noticeable. We miss everything about her, right down to the familiar, comforting sound of her nails tapping on the floor as she sniffed her way around the house.
Thank you, sweet Ellie, for 15 years of unconditional love, unmatched companionship, and endless laughter. You lived a long, beautiful life, and you left paw prints on our hearts that will stay with us forever. Run free, our beautiful girl - we hope heaven has a full pizza and endless chicken waiting just for you.
